Portable potty seat, toilet setting for the kid at home

pink colour toilet seat for child use

neatly place the toilet bowl seat and the stool within easy reach for my child
We have bought a simple portable potty seat from the market, this pink potty seat can be easily fit onto the family toilet bowl, the extra seat give the child comfortabily and at same time protect the child from falling while using the toilet. The IKEA children's stool is for the child to step up, the stool has the anti-slip cover on top, reduces the risk of slippage, the anti-slip protector on underside also makes the stool stand steady
After used, the child toilet seat will be hang on the side of the wall, and the stool place at the side, within easy reach for the child at the next use.

Hitachi washing machine (8 kg)

The environmental interest on global warming effect have lead to many companies seeking ways to be more earth friendly and energy efficient.  This is a new model of washing machine introduced by Hitachi, with Eco-friendly operation (used less water and less energy).

All along we have hand-washed our clothes, until we moved to our new unit.  We have no experience in using washing machine before, unable to comment on its function compared to other brand washing machines.  However so far, we have used this washing machine for several times, and can say we are definately satisfied with its performance :)

Fanco ceiling fan with 5 light kits

Ceiling fan closed up shot

Our living room did not install aircon unit.  A celing fan is another option, and it offers a low cost alternative as compared to aircon.

We chose Fanco ceiling fan (series FF404, size 54"), comes with 5 aluminium blades and have it fitted with 5 light kits.

Remote control is available, but we decided to go for the manual function.  As shown on the pictures, there are 2 pull chains attached with the fan and light.

It is noiseless and ceiling fan provide better circulation of wind as compared to standing fan.  So far so good, we have no complaint :)

DIY Window Films to protect privacy

Nowadays with limited land and space, the flat and houses are built close to each other, resulting in a lost of privacy for some residential property. Neighbour be able to overlook your kitchen, or even your bedroom due to the close distance between the houses. Our service yard area overlooked the corridor, so there is not much privacy.

We do not want to spend expensive money to change the clear window of the kitchen and so decided to DIY on the window films. They are easily to clean, removable and reuseable.

First we measured size of the windows we want to cover up, the length and breath are recorded down on a piece of paper, also jot down the number of pieces of window films we need. Then we go down to a DIY shop to have them take down our film's measurement and told them the number of pieces we need for the particular measurement, and they will cut the window films accordingly to our needs.

When at home, we get ready these items:- soapy utensil washing detergent, have it mixed it with water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle, a plastic window blade and a pen-knife.

Follow these steps as directed by the DIY shop owner :-
  1. Cleaned the window glasses. Spray the mixture content from the spray bottle on the entire window, to make it wet and slippery.
  2. Carefully moved the cut window film on the slippery glass to it exact location and position.
  3. Use the plastic window blade to adjust the film on the glass and to scrape off the bubbles downright under the film.
  4. A pen-knife may be necessary to trim off the little excess measurement of window film at the glass corner edge.
  5. And once done, let the window film dry up for awhile.
  6. Do the same steps from 1 to 5 doing the same for the next window glass.

Master Bedroom, Curtain or Roller Blind?

Master Bedroom before

Master Bedroom completed
For the master bed-room, we decided on roller blinds, also considering the bedroom comes with a bay window. We can enjoyed the luxury of seating on the bay seat admiring the day and night scenery.  Roller blinds are easier to manage than curtain.
